L68A1 Mast Section On the relationship between type classification and basic parameters of tower crane
After more than a century of development, tower cranes have produced a large number of derived models and types. The widely used tower cranes are: upper return tower crane, lower return tower crane and self lifting attached tower crane.

Classification of tower cranes
According to the current Chinese national standard classification, the model standard of tower crane is QT, in which "Q" represents "crane" and "t" represents "tower". Generally, the domestic standard titles are like this. Of course, because our country learns the technology of Liebherr in Germany and botham in France to manufacture tower cranes, some manufacturers also define the model names according to the foreign coding rules.
Generally speaking, tower crane can be divided into the following forms:
1. Upper slewing type: QT, upper slewing tower crane;
2. Up slewing jack up type: QTZ, up slewing jack up tower crane;
3. Down turning type: QTX, down turning tower crane;

4. Lower slewing jack up type: QTS, lower slewing jack up tower crane;
5. Quick installation type: qtk, quick installation tower crane;
6. Fixed: QTG, fixed tower crane;
7. Climbing type: QTP, climbing tower crane;
8. Rubber tyred: QTL, rubber tyred tower crane;
9. Truck type: qtq, truck tower crane;
10. Crawler type: qtu, crawler tower crane.
Basic parameters of tower crane
The model of tower crane includes some basic parameters, which are: lifting moment, lifting weight, maximum working amplitude of basic arm, lifting height, track gauge and working speed of mechanism. Among them, the lifting moment is the main parameter of the tower crane, and the definition of lifting moment is the product of the maximum amplitude of the basic arm and the corresponding maximum lifting weight.
For example, QTZ80
Where QTZ stands for self elevating tower crane, 80 is the nominal lifting moment 800KN · m (product of basic arm and corresponding rated lifting weight) divided by 10. However, due to the influence of imported tower cranes, there is a new type of model identification method on the market. Two main parameters, i.e. the maximum arm length (m) and the rated weight (KN) that can be lifted at the arm end (maximum amplitude), are used to mark the model of tower cranes. For example, QTZ80 is marked with tc6010 and TC5513. Although this marking method does not meet the national standard of China, it can directly reflect the lifting performance of tower crane. Therefore, when purchasing a tower crane, we should understand the relationship between the two expressions and carefully compare the lifting moment curve.
