Upper rotating tower crane




One of the basic characteristics of tower crane is that the tower body does not rotate. The boom and balance arm above the slewing bearing can make full rotation around the center line of the tower body through the slewing mechanism and slewing bearing.

It can also use buildings instead of the lower tower body to support the jacket and the tower body on the specially designed support on the inner wall of the elevator shaft in turn, and use the hydraulic cylinder to make the crane climb along the elevator shaft, which is called the internal climbing tower crane. Although the internal climbing type saves part of the tower body, it has specific requirements for the building. After the construction is completed, the demolition work is relatively difficult.

One of the tower cranes, the slewing bearing is installed between the base and the turntable. Because the tower body rotates, except for the traveling mechanism, other working mechanisms are arranged on the turntable, and the center of gravity of the whole machine is low. The parts above the slewing bearing, such as turntable, tower body and boom, rotate together. Because the tower body rotates and cannot be attached to the building, the height of the tower is lower than that of the upper rotating type. The tower crane can be disassembled and transferred as a whole, which is light, flexible and widely used.




When the crane is removed and transferred as a whole, start the luffing mechanism, lower the tower body connecting boom on the car, remove the balance weight, tighten the luffing rope, raise the tail of the base, push it into a tire shaft, then support the base on the tire shaft, and connect the tower body and the base with the connecting rod, then the crane can be towed and transferred.




The large down rotating tower crane often adopts the way of self lifting of the tower body, but the self lifting height is limited because it can't be attached. In addition, the lower rotating tower crane, in addition to the track type, also has the track type and the tire type which take the track chassis and the tire chassis as the walking device.
