The main function of the tower crane balance arm is to provide the reverse moment for the boom to ensure the balance of the body. In most cases, the balance arm of tower crane is a structure composed of I-beam and angle steel, which is divided into two sections and connected by padeye pin shaft, so as to ensure the balance of the body in the lifting process. It is one of the important tower crane accessories.
During the installation of the tower crane balance arm, two balance arms shall be assembled on the ground first, and the lifting mechanism, electric control box and resistance precision shall be ensured. The balance arm pull rod shall be installed on the balance arm and connected properly. The slewing mechanism is connected with the temporary power supply to turn the part above the slewing bearing to the position convenient for installing the balance arm.
Then, the tower crane construction personnel shall lift the balance arm (4 installation lifting eyes are set on the balance arm), and fix and connect the balance arm and the rotating tower body with the pin shaft. Gradually raise the balance arm to a proper position, so that the pull rod on the balance arm is connected with the pull rod of the balance pipe on the tower top with a pin wheel, put on the pin shaft and open the cotter pin. Finally, slowly lower the balance arm, and then lift the balance weight to install it on the position closest to the tower top.
The balance arm of the tower crane is equipped with railings and aisles, and the tail is equipped with a working platform. One end of the balance arm of the tower crane is connected with the rotating tower body by two special pin shafts, the other end is connected with the tower cap by a combination of rigid tie rods, and the tail is equipped with a balance weight and a lifting mechanism. The lifting mechanism itself has an independent base, which is balanced on the balance arm of the tower crane by four pin shafts.
